Dell Stack release date, specs, rumors: Leaked image render shows phablet's sleek design; device to arrive next year?

Dell is rumored to be working on a Windows 10 Mobile device that will work as a phone, a tablet, and a desktop. Now, the unit dubbed as Dell Stack has another of its rendered image leaked online. It is also speculated to make its presence in 2017.

The reputable leaker Even Blass posted another rendered image of the Dell Stack. The image also contains a docking port.

This was the same device that Blass tweeted several days ago that was thought to be the mysterious Surface Phone from Microsoft.

The Dell Stack is speculated to sport a Full HD screen that is around 6.4-inch to 7-inch. It is also rumored to contain between 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM and either a 128 GB or 256 GB internal storage. Support for MicroSD is also possible. Several reports also suggest that the device was originally conceptualized back in 2014, but was later shelved. Now it is expected to arrive next year, although no exact period has been announced yet.

Based on the previous and the latest images, the purported device is a very thin one. It is supposed to run with an Intel Kaby Lake mobile processor, a full-fledged Intel x86 processor that may include m3, m5 vPro, and m7 vPro. This also means that programs meant to run on desktop and laptop machines could also run on this device.

The leaked image also showed a docking port that has an extra slot. It is rumored that an extra battery can be charged while the device is attached to the dock's main slot.

There's not a lot of Windows 10 Mobile devices on the market today. The last two models that were announced was the Alcatel Idol 4S and the HP Elite x3. Both devices are as powerful as Android flagship phones, loaded with the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and comes with 4 GB of RAM. The Alcatel device arrives with a VR headset, while the one from HP comes with a docking port.

Dell has not given any official statement regarding its rumored Stack device.
