'Darkest Dungeon' news: PS4 and PS Vita release delayed

Darkest Dungeon Red Hook

"Darkest Dungeon" has become a hit RPG on PCs and has just launched for Linux. The game is scheduled to launch for the PS4 and PS Vita as well but developer Red Hook has announced on their official website that these ports will be delayed and are now going to be released either by late July or early August.

"We want to make sure that all of the Town Event contents we are working on now are solid for inclusion into the console release, as well as making sure it runs like butter and plays well with a controller. Adjusting controls, in particular, is not a quick process," reads the official statement from the developers.

According to the developers, Sickhead Games has been beneficial in getting these control settings done right and has helped in ensuring that the PS4 and PS Vita versions of "Darkest Dungeon" run just as well as the PC and Linux versions do.

This will not be the first time that a PC game that made it big on the Steam network will be ported to consoles. "The Banner Saga," from developer Stoic Games, also found success on the PC and is currently on the way to consoles as well.

However, as stated, the main reason for the delay comes with the implementation of Town Events, a new system which will launch in May. Town Events are random events that may trigger in the Hamlet every time a player returns from an expedition. This may range from a festival taking place in the Abbey to special contests running in the Tavern.

The final release date for the PS4 and PS Vita port of "Darkest Dungeon" is still undetermined at this point but the developers are expected to make an announcement come June or early July. The Town Events will be released in May for the PC version.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
