The mid-season 5 premiere of "Covert Affairs" is about to air on TV screens. So what does season 5B have in store for the fans? There's really not many spoilers going around, but here are some confirmed information on what will be happening in the season's remaining episodes.
First, there's the return of Eyal, who will appear in the premiere episode on Nov. 6. Oded Fehr will be seen in the 11th episode of the season ("Trigger Cut") and is said to reunite with Annie. According to TV Line, Eyal will resurface when Annie goes on a "reconnaissance mission in Instanbul." TV Line further stated that McQuaid's health "hangs in the balance."
The mid-season trailer shows Annie saying, "I don't work for Langley anymore," and it's because she is going rogue. She is headed to Istanbul to unravel the truth behind the Chicago attack.
Annie will do everything to find out who the mastermind is, even if it means that she has to disobey the orders of the CIA. And with Eyal back and back on Team Annie, Annie now has someone on her side. Eyal and Annie will do a lot of work together in season 5B.
What about Ryan? Ryan won't be doing well and Annie won't be around to nurse him since Annie is off to Istanbul to get some leads. TV Guide also spoils that someone will die in the remaining episodes.
As for what remains of season 5B and the season finale, executive producer Matt Corman told TV Guide, "It's a real roller coaster ride. It intimately deals with Auggie and his backstory. There are going to be a lot of twists and turns in the back six that I think fans of the show will really appreciate and enjoy. It's quite a thrill ride. We're going to Istanbul and Argentina."
