The Cleveland Browns replaced punter Spencer Lanning releasing him after working a trade deal with the San Francisco 49ers acquiring punter Andy Lee for a seventh-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Lee, who is a three-time Pro Bowler, was expected to be out of the 49ers' rotation next season after the team drafted Clemson punter Bradley Pinion in the fifth round of this year's draft.

"For the last 11 years, Andy has been a tremendous representative of the 49ers organization both on the field and in the community," 49ers general manager Trent Baalke stated according to ESPN.

"While he may be best known for his production on the field, we have come to know Andy as a great teammate and family man. We would like to thank Andy for his commitment to this organization, while wishing him and his family continued success throughout his career and beyond," Baalke added.

Meanwhile Lee, who was drafted by San Francisco in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft, thanked the 49ers.

"It has truly been an amazing 11 years with the 49ers organization, and I'm thankful for everything they have done for me," Lee said according to ESPN.

"Thank you to the York family, my teammates, the coaches, the football staff and the Faithful for your support over the years. It's been a great time," the 32-year-old added.

Lee also said he is looking forward for a new start with the Browns next season.

"I'm excited about my new start and becoming a member of the Cleveland Browns. I've heard so many good things about the city of Cleveland and the loyalty and passion of the fans from my former teammate Phil Dawson," Lee said according to NFL.com.

"I've also heard some very positive things about the type of organization and team the Browns are building so my family and I are very much looking forward to becoming a part of it," he added.

Lanning, who finished third in the NFL last season in punts attempted with 93, had a classy farewell for Cleveland via Twitter.

"#CLE Been a hell of a ride. Y'all deserve a championship, hate I won't be here to experience it. Can't thank you enough for the memories," Lanning tweeted.
