'Bones' season 11 plot, cast: Kim Raver cast as FBI agent Grace Miller

 Fox

"Bones" season 11 will start off with a bang as the two-part season premiere introduces actress Kim Raver as FBI agent Grace Miller. According to a report from TVLine, Miller is on board to help Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and the team investigate Booth's (David Boreanaz) sudden disappearance.

Raver is most popularly known as Audrey Raines on the hit television series "24," a role she returned to for the 2014 revival mini-series "24: Live Another Day." She also portrayed the character Dr. Teddy Altman for three seasons of "Grey's Anatomy."

The two-part premiere for "Bones" season 11 brings back series' villain Christopher Pelant (Andrew Leeds) who made his first appearance back in season 7. Fans speculate that the psychopathic serial killer may be holding Booth hostage or that Booth has gone mad trying to hunt Pelant down.

Season 10 ended with Booth and Brennan agreeing that it was time to distance themselves from the Jeffersonian and the FBI after learning Pelant might not be dead as previously believed, but it isn't clear at this point if their decision is partly responsible for Booth's disappearance.

Raver's inclusion appears to be only for these two opening episodes but given that the actress has not yet announced long-term commitments to any other TV or film project, it is still possible she may pop up again before season 11 is through.

Fox TV has not yet confirmed whether or not Raver's involvement in the show is a one-time special treat or if she will reprise the role later on. It is likely, however, that she will not be present for the upcoming crossover episode of "Bones" and "Sleepy Hollow."

"Bones" season 11 premieres this Oct. 1 with episodes "The Loyalty is the Lie" and "The Brother in the Basement."
