'Bloodborne: The Old Hunters' DLC weapons- what to expect

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC From Software

FromSoftware revealed during the Tokyo Game Show that "Bloodborne" was getting its first major expansion DLC, "The Old Hunters." While no further announcement has been given regarding what kind of new weapons and locales will be added to the game, a report from Movie Pilot has dissected the trailer to discern what fans can expect.

The first weapon described is a Beast Cleaver, which is described to be a strength-based counterpart to the game's Threaded Cane. As shown in the trailer, the weapon can morph from a large, high damage-dealing cleaver to a whip that can attack multiple enemies.

Simon's Bow is the second weapon in the report, which not only brings back the bow and arrow style of fighting from the "Dark Souls" games but it also has a blade that allows it to function in short-range combat. This is also the only weapon that is given an official name thus far.

There is also the Buzzsaw Hammer, which appears like a simple pipe with a large buzzsaw attached to its end. Fans of the "Gears of War" franchise may recognize its similarity to that game's Lancer Assault Rifle, which also has a rotating saw attached to it.

The remaining weapons mentioned are the "Pick of Death," Sword and Shield combo, and the Flint-Strike Hammer.

Unofficial translations of each weapon's description have also been listed, courtesy of the Bloodborne Wiki page. All of the weapons' names, except for Simon's Bow, are also based on unofficial translations and may be given different names in the English release of the DLC pack.

"Bloodborne: The Old Hunters" will release in Japan and in the US on Nov. 24 and is currently priced ar $19.99. There is also an upcoming "Bloodborne: The Old Hunters Edition," which contains the base game and the DLC together. However, as the advertisement for this edition has only been released for Japan, there is no confirmation yet that this will release in the US.
