She is Queen B, as "Freedom" singer Beyonce landed on the top spot of Forbes' Highest Paid Women in Music list.
Forbes recently revealed that Beyonce was the top-earning musician among women, with a $105 million income before taxes. It was not at all surprising that she could be one of those vying for the first rank, as her "Lemonade" album made its way into many people's hearts. Her Formation World Tour was cited as the most significant contributor to her earnings.
Trailing the "Formation" singer was "Hello" singer Adele, who fans saw winning the Album of the Year Award in February's Grammy Awards. She followed in with $69 million total earnings pre-taxes. Clearly, she has been getting even more fans, who mostly commend her for her heartfelt songs. "Adele's music appeals to listeners of all ages all over the world with her undeniably powerful, emotional vocal interpretations paired with timeless songwriting and production," explained songwriter Skylar Grey.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift, who reigned supreme in the Forbes' list last year, fell short and ranked third this year. She garnered $44 million, but analysts expect that she could again snatch a higher spot next year, after her "Reputation" album was warmly received by the audience. Earnings for "Reputation" were not counted because it was released post-scoring period.
"My Heart Will Go On" singer Celine Dion still clings to the list by ranking fifth with $42 million, as could probably be attributed to the clamor she got after fans saw her taking a break due to her husband's death in January 2016. Dion is then followed by Jennifer Lopez with $38 million. Dolly Parton takes the sixth place with $37 million.
