Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is still racking it in at the box office but for fans who have already seen the film, all eyes are on the third installment, Avengers: Infinity War which is divided into two parts.

The first part is set to hit the big screen in 2018 while the second part follows a year after (2019).

This early, it has already be confirmed that the chief villain will be Thanos and that he will finally get his hands on the power stone which will be needed to complete the Infinity Gauntlet.

As far as the main cast is concerned, rumored additions include Chris Pratt (Star Lord) and the Guardians of the Galaxy members joining the cause in an effort to help avert the impending threat the Thanos will be bringing. In fact, Pratt gave some hints on what to expect in the third installment during an interview with GQ Magazine.

Aside from Pratt, another superhero who is pegged to join the fight is Spiderman. The web slinging hero recently returned home to Marvel Studios after Sony relinquished its rights to the Spiderman franchise and word has it that he could be the one to save the world in the end.

If the third installment follows the comic plot, it will be Spiderman who will be able to get back the Infinity Gauntlet and use it to reverse time to undo the havoc caused by Thanos.

In the end, it will only be Spidey and Thanos who will have any memory of the series of events.

The various independent Marvel films will reportedly have a link leading to Avengers 3. But of all the individual films, it will be Thor 3: Ragnarok that will be the most influential since it will be Thor who will come face to face with Thanos since one of the stones is kept in Asgard.

From there, all Marvel films set to be shown will have a bearing up until Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1 set to be shown on May 4, 2018.
