Android 5.0.3 Lollipop update for Nexus 6 rolling out soon?

Nexus 6 Google

Although Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS is already present in some devices, Google's own Nexus 6 has not received the update yet.

It seems that the aforementioned version of the Android operating system was tailored to fix the bugs and issues found in the Nexus 7. The update has not been spotted in other devices, although rumors are flying that the update will land in various devices soon. Still, the state of the Google Nexus 6 remains unclear.

Currently, the device is still stuck with the 5.0.1 version. This was supposed to resolve some of the bugs and issues first seen in the early version of the Lollipop OS. Now, there are whispers that the Nexus 6 is likely to skip the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and will receive the Android 5.0.3 version instead. The update will reportedly bring fixes to the crashes in app, memory leak, and other issues left unresolved by the previous update.

One common user complaint is inability to connect to home networks. Some users also complained that the device can save the home network and password but fail to connect and enable Internet connection. Another main issue in the Nexus 6 is app crashing. Developers cannot pinpoint the cause of the problem, but it seems that some of the apps are still incompatible with the 5.0.1 version, causing them to crash. Moreover, the latest firmware causes fast draining of the battery.

Some users were disappointed with the slow pace of Google in releasing the updates and complained about battery drain, app crashes, weak signals, unable to connect to Wi-Fi networks as well as spontaneous reboots of the device when it goes into sleep mode.

It is expected that the search giant will roll out more updates in the near future. There are whispers that Google will release the Android 5.1 update in February, but nothing is final yet.
