As "The Witches of East End" season two has come to an end, fans of the supernatural drama TV series are looking forward to details whether it will be cancelled or renewed for a third season.
Lifetime has not made an official announcement regarding their plans for the series, although actress Madchen Amick, who plays Wendy Beauchamp, has told Entertainment Weekly that "we are all very optimistic that we will continue on."
Amick also added, "We hope all the viewers keep chiming in and campaigning for season 3."
The series' executive producer, Maggie Friedman, recently took to Twitter and posted a message on her page that was addressed to the show's fans. She said that a third season is highly necessary to make more "Frillian stories" known. The show's writers have also revealed that a couple of time travel scenes will show Dash as a Nazi.
According to Amick, the storyline will be wrongly cut off if the series will be put to an end after only two seasons.
"I think it'll be fans in a frenzy, not gonna lie. It's so great. It's incredibly satisfying, but of course, in good 'Witches' fashion, there are a few new storylines that are opened up that you just have to see how they're resolved," she explained.
All in all, ratings for the "Witches of East End" have declined, but fans are hoping that such drop would not influence a potential cancellation of the series. Specifically, its 10-episode season one raked in 1.9 million viewers for each episode. Meanwhile, season two pulled in a lower average of 1.1 million viewers for each of its 13 episodes.
Based on the novel of the same name created by Melissa de la Cruz, the TV adaptation of "Witches of East End" puts the spotlight on a family of witches in a fictional place known as East End.
Led by Julia Ormond who plays the main character Joanna Beauchamp, other cast members include Amick, Jenna Dewan Tatum (Freya Beauchamp) and Rachel Boston (Ingrid Beauchamp).
