Why are white people silent on racial injustice? Christian rapper Lecrae asks

Christian rapper Lecrae cannot understand why white people are brave about confronting controversial topics such as the shocking violence committed by ISIS against Christianity and other religion, or about the hair-raising sale of foetal body parts being conducted by Planned Parenthood, but they turn "eerily silent" when it comes to any talk related to racial injustice.

"I have historically posted things about abortion, Planned Parenthood and my thoughts on that. I've talked about ISIS, the terror that is ISIS and how it has affected us all," the Reach Records founder shared in a video he uploaded on Facebook.

During those instances, his white brothers and sisters would encourage him and tell him, "Thank you for speaking about this." But when he ventured into the issue of racial discrimination, they kept silent.

"There's this sentiment of what seems to be like hostility or defensiveness," he mulled, since people kept asking him to change the topic back to terrorism or abortion.

"I'm interested in understanding what the sentiment here is?" he asked.

Lecrae then urged his fans to weigh in on his question. He explained that he does not want to create an antagonistic stance and simply want to understand people's thoughts on the matter.

"I personally do not feel that I give more sway to one thing more than the other intentionally. I think that I'm human and as an African-American male that's the experience, the paradigm that I see things through so that's probably going to affect me a little more than it's going to affect somebody who's not a part of the black community," he explained. "I definitely understand that. But I am interested in understanding why there's this instinct response."
