Have you ever experienced fear over the uncertainties that tomorrow might bring? If you have, then I have an encouragement for you.
We all feel some sort of worry over the things that we don't have control over, such as tomorrow. No matter how much we prepare, or save money for, or even stock up on food or other kinds of preparation one might think, the truth remains that tomorrow is not in our hands to control.
But one thing we do know is that God sees our tomorrow, is holding it, and wants us to trust Him for it.
Are you frequently worried about what you will do about tomorrow? Here are some things that you can do.
1. Seek God
Why worry about tomorrow when you can seek counsel from the One who made it? Friend, if you're worried about your tomorrow, seek the Lord. God knows what will happen tomorrow. He is the perfect guide to prepare us for it.
Don't think of this as something mystical because it really is not. Read the Bible and find what God says about life and preparing for the future.
For example, Ecclesiastes 1:9 tells us, "That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun."
History merely repeats itself, and we can learn from it.
Aside from learning from God through history, we can also seek the future through a personal relationship with Him. Men of God in the Bible such as Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah were able to foresee into the future because they sought God, not fortune-tellers.
You might say they're prophets. But what we have in Christ right now is more powerful: the Holy Spirit. Jesus said of the Holy Spirit in John 16:13, "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future."
2. Obey God
After seeking God and receiving counsel about what to do for tomorrow, it's but common sense to heed His Word. Obey what He says in His Word. James 1:22 tells us, "But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves."
3. Trust God
After seeking God and doing what He says, we need to trust Him to do His part. There will be times when the results don't come as fast as your orders at a fast food drive-thru, but it doesn't mean God will not answer. He always responds, so keep seeking Him, obeying Him, and trusting Him.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
