Westbrook Dining Room Extention Appeal

Westbrook is seeking funding for a multi-use extension to the Dining Room to meet the increased numbers using the Centre and provide a flexible space for activities from artwork to IT or just chilling out.

There has always been a continuous programme of improvement but we now need to take a bold step forward in providing additional accommodation designed to meet the changing needs of those using Westbrook in the 21st century”.

The proposal is to remove the external wall of the Dining Room and build a single storey extension over the area of the existing terrace. The terrace area at the rear of the Main Lounge will be roofed over, with open sides, to improve winter use and protect from the occasional summer shower.

The floor level of the new extension will be slightly higher than the Dining Room giving it a separate identity whilst it remains part of the dining area. There will be ramped access to the space which will be provided with AVA facilities and connections to the Centre’s IT network. As a dining area 30 additional places will be provided.

We have already received planning permission for the project and are currently applying for Building regulation approval before contacting builders for tender.

We invite you to consider sharing in the vision of the centre by supporting the proposed Dining Room Extension Fund.
