The much-awaited "Warcraft" movie is roughly a year away from being released but director Duncan Jones already expressed his interest in making sequels. Speaking to a crowd of reporters during the San Diego Comic-Con, the helmer revealed how more movies based on the Blizzard game could happen.

"I personally worked very closely with Chris Metzen [Blizzard storytelling and franchise development SVP]. We worked out that if we did get a chance to do three films to tell the story, this would be the first piece and we kind of have an idea of what we would do with 2 and 3," he said as quoted by Den of Geek. "I want to be the guy to deliver that."

This, however, doesn't guarantee that a "Warcraft" movie trilogy will be brought to life. If it does, Jones is keeping his directorial post in the creative team.

After recalling how well-versed he is in the "World of Warcraft" mythology, Jones revealed in the same interview that the film will be "a war movie" that will tell the story from both the orcs' perspective and the humans' standpoint as well.

"There's certainly a Horde side and an Alliance side," the director said. "And that is integral to what makes Warcraft what it is."

He added that the film will make viewers "empathize with both sides" and that they will find themselves cheering on a hero from both the warring parties.

Lastly, he also had time to praise Rob Kaczynski, who "went for it" in portraying the role of Orcish Horde warchief Orgrim Doomhammer. Jones said that the character is "one of the most charismatic in the movie" and he described Kaczynski's portrayal of him as the actor's "best work."

Originally scheduled for release in December this year, the "Warcraft" movie will be shown in theaters in June 2016.
