Vin Diesel fulfils childhood dream of singing with gospel choir

 World Star Hip Hop

It may not seem like it but action star Vin Diesel has always wanted to sing with a church choir. The problem was he was always afraid to.

Now, his lifelong dream has finally come true, even if the performance was for a film crew and not for a church full of people.

According to a report by E! , Diesel, along with his co-star Samuel L. Jackson shot a scene in a downtown Toronto church with 13 member choir group Sharon Riley and the Faith for the movie xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, part of Diesel's blockbuster xXx franchise and a sequel xXx: State of the Union starring Ice Cube.

In a video posted on Trinity Lewis, Diesel is seen leading the choir in a heartfelt rendition of "Oh Happy Day."

Diesel explained that he was able to fulfil his dream because they happened to be filming in a church. They actually went through thousands of choirs to find the perfect one for the movie.

"I just wanted to say that a dream of mine always, has been to have the confidence to sing in a choir. Although my grandmother would take me to the choir every weekend, I never had that little bit of confidence to get up there and sing. So since I'm in a circle of love with Sharon Riley and the Faith Chorale, I am going to attempt what I thought was not possible," he said.

Suffice to say, the Fast and the Furious star belted out the song with gusto with the support of the choir.

Sharon Riley and the Faith Chorale are actually no strangers to Hollywoood as they were already featured in Blues Brothers 2000 topbilled by Dan Akroyd.

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage will hit theaters in 2017.
