'Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin' teased by Square-Enix

Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin Square-Enix

Square-Enix has revealed a logo for a brand new "Valkyrie Profile" game titled "Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin." It is unclear at this point what platform the game is going to be released for, although fans speculate it will be released for the PS4 given how previous games in the series launched for the PlayStation One and the PS2, respectively.

However, according to Gematsu, the game is likely to be released for the mobile market. According to the report, the teaser website for the game makes use of the term "distribution" and the game is set to launch in Japan only by the end of spring, which both are indications that the game is not being marketed for a major console release.

The report does point out that the logo maintains the image of the main character, Lenneth, although it is likely the image has been kept as a silhouette because the game may feature an entirely different Valkyrie in case "Valkyrie Anatomia" is set in a new timeline.

Other than the logo, the only information gathered from the teaser site includes the statement revealing Yoshinori Yamagishi stepping in as the game's producer and Daisuke Fujisawa handling the game's scenarios. Music will be done by Motoi Sakuraba.

Yamagishi, who worked on the DS spin-off game "Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume," is also listed in the credits, giving more credence to the theory that "Valkyrie Anatomia" is a mobile game.

Unfortunately, the website does not share any additional information regarding the game's story, characters, or gameplay mechanics other than the fact that it is an RPG. It is undetermined at this point if the game will be released outside Japan and if it is a spin-off or a direct sequel or prequel to the original two games released.

"Valkyrie Profile" began with the original game for the PS1 in 1999. It was later ported to the PSP in 2006, simulanteously with the release of the PS2 sequel "Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria." "Covenant of the Plume," a Nintendo DS spin-off, was released in Japan in 2008 and was ported to the West the following year.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
