Toronto Raptors trade rumors 2016: rumored multi-player swaps involving the Raptors

NBA trades are sometimes complicated affairs. One of the rumors of a possible three-way trade involving the Toronto team certainly qualifies as a complicated deal. The conjecture, as Yibada reports, ventures into the possibility that the Raptors could bring in Kenneth Faried from the Denver Nuggets, who would receive Nerlens Noel, and possibly even Carl Landry, from the Philadelphia 76ers.

If this blockbuster deal does come to pass, the Raptors would benefit a great deal, considering how they've been in need of some help in their frontcourt after losing Bismack Biyombo. Another trade scenario speculates upon a four-way deal involving the Raptors. This comes from Dan Favale of Bleacher Report, as Morning News USA recalls. The trade-off could involve the Raptors, the LA Clippers, the Sacramento Kings, and the Charlotte Hornets.

The Raptors may trade for Blake Griffin and Kosta Koufos in exchange for Norman Powell, Patrick Patterson, and Jonas Valanciunas. The move is pure guesswork, and Favale confirmed that he was aware of the hypothetical nature of the move when he questioned the sensibility of the deal.

On the one hand, it's true that gaining Griffin would enable the Toronto team to boast of three big names, namely Kate Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, and Griffin. While on the other, Powell's moves are just beginning to garner attention and recognition from both fans as well as critics, and Valanciunas is a budding young talent that the Raptors would benefit from retaining. Also, the Clippers' power forward Griffin has a player option that he could exercise to function as a free agent.

So as it stands now, it seems like the price the Raptors have to pay for bringing in Griffin is too high. Nevertheless, there are a few experts who still believe that the Toronto squad is the right place for Blake Griffin, as Chatt Sports Net reports.
