Already featured by PC Advisor as one of the most anticipated games for next year, hardcore fans can't help but wait anxiously, as the rollout for the beta version of "Tom Clancy's The Division" draws near. Meanwhile, developer and publisher Ubisoft revealed details about the upcoming multiplayer shooter in a recently concluded community Q&A.
Apparently, as what is the current trend for most genres in the gaming industry today, the upcoming Ubisoft title will also feature character creations, and each player can build up to four characters from scratch. According to the publisher, the character creation will come with a novelty – it will not be skills-specific. This means that each of the four characters will have access to the skills already unlocked in the progress of the game.
However, Ubisoft cleared that players will not have total access to all the skill sets that they have already acquired in the game. Whichever character the player has selected before the mission starts, each character will only have two skills actively equipped while the mission is ongoing.
However, as Ubisoft admitted that each session is fluid and situations can change in an instant, players have the option to switch skills in-game. This means that although a character started out a mission with offense-specific skills, the player can switch the two equipped skills with backup and support-specific ones (such as healing or long-range skills) while still on the mission.
Meanwhile, there is still no specific date on when the beta will roll out, although Ubisoft targeted a December release date. Xbox One players will have the first glimpse of the beta this month, while the PC and PS4 players will need to wait a little bit longer. The beta for "The Division" will include the PS4 and PC platforms early next year.
