"The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier" will finally arrive on Dec. 20 after months of speculations. This, by the way, is only for the digital version. Players who prefer to insert a physical disc in their video game consoles will have to wait until Feb. 7.

Telltale Games, the game developer, recently announced the arrival of the first of five episodes that will feature a young man named Javier and Clementine, a returning fan favorite.

"When family is all you have left... how far will you go to protect it? Four years after society was ripped apart by undead hands, pockets of civilization emerge from the chaos. But at what cost? Can the living be trusted on this new frontier? As Javier, a young man determined to find the family taken from him, you meet a young girl who has experienced her own unimaginable loss. Her name is Clementine, and your fates are bound together in a story where every choice you make could be your last," the game's premise reads.

The upcoming episode can now be pre-ordered for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for $4.99. A Season Pass for all five episodes is also available for $24.99. The studio will release the disc-based game on February 7, 2017 for $29.99, which will include the Season Pass. The succeeding episodes will then become available as they are released. The disc is only available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One video game consoles.

"The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier" is the third full season of the game which was first released back in 2012. The following year, the studio released the second season, as well as a one-off episode called "The 400 Days." Earlier this year, a miniseries that focused on Michonne was also released.

Game fans can expect an extended trailer to be released on during The Game Awards event scheduled on Thursday, Dec. 1.
