"The Walking Dead" season 6 will feature a flashback showing Morgan (Lennie James) and his journey as he followed RIck Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of the group all the way to Alexandria, reports TVLine. "The Walking Dead" showrunner Scott M. Gimple confirmed that there is a story to tell about Morgan.

Fans are reminded that Morgan was previously showcased in the season 3 episode "Clear" to have lost his mind after the death of his son. During season 4, the character was revealed to have been on Rick's trail and had been following the group ever since.

By the season 5 finale, Morgan was revealed to have reached some type of epiphany and his character had changed from a crazed, murderous psychopath to a calm pacificist. Morgan is shown in season 5 to completely resent unnecessary killing although he is still capable of fighting and killing when needed.

"Something happened in the middle of all of that. And we really do need to show it to you," Gimple told TVLine.

Six months ago, James revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Morgan had met someone after Morgan and Rick parted ways in season 3 and that it was this person who had a strong effect on Morgan's outlook in life. In season 5, Morgan stated "all life is precious," hinting that the person he met was also a strong pacifist.

According to Cinema Blend, there is a strong chance that this person is in fact Paul "Jesus" Monroe. In "The Walking Dead" comic books, Jesus was a pacificist and leader of another colony of survivors who later became allies to Rick and the citizens of Alexandria, particularly as they fought the brutal villain Negan.

Season 6 will be introducing Jesus, portrayed by Tom Payne, although this is not a confirmation of Cinema Blend's speculation.

"The Walking Dead" season 6 premieres this Oct. 11.
