'The Sims 4' PS4, Xbox One release date: Console version could reach gamers as early as September

A look at "The Sims 4" Dine Out DLC released June 7. EA/Maxis

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of "The Sims 4" might be here sooner than gamers expect it will be. The latest buzz suggests that the game's console release will take place this fall.

Although Electronic Arts and Maxis kept their lips tight about the launch of "The Sims 4" to the PS4 and Xbox One, reports are rife that they might be here as early as September.

It's been three years since "The Sims 4" hit the PC. If one were to look at the release timings of its predecessor "The Sims 3" to the consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One edition of "The Sims 4" should be here by now.

"The Sims 3" was released for the PC in June 2009, but it did not arrive in the Xbox 360 and PS3 until October 2010. That's one year and four months. By that time, it was also available on smartphones.

If EA and Maxis plan to put out a console version of "The Sims 4," it might be here soon. Whether or not that will happen in fall remains to be seen, but fans sure want to make that happen.

Some reports suggest that "The Sims 4" for PS4 and Xbox One is not yet here because EA and Maxis want to first release all of the downloadable content for the game.

Other rumors say that the collaborators want to make sure that the move of "The Sims 4" from PC to the console will be without a hitch. However, porting it over reportedly challenges this feat.

Despite the deafening silence on the console front, EA and Maxis have been hard at work enriching the life simulation experience in "The Sims 4."

Earlier this month, the game broke gender barriers and made available stuff such as clothing and hairstyles to both genders instead of making them exclusive to just either one.
