Fans of Linkle might be disappointed to find out that "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U will not be including the character in its repertoire. However, it's not all bad news.
Linkle, the heroic female version of Link, gained a lot of fans when players discovered her as a playable character in "Hyrule Warriors Legends." Prior to that, fans of the "Zelda" series were already caught in an uproar for a female version of Link, but it looks like Linkle will stay right where she is, at least for now.
"I'm sure we will keep her in mind when thinking about future titles," said Nintendo producer Eiji Aonuma to IGN.
While Linkle won't be in "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U, she may appear in other games in the "Zelda" franchise. Fans should stay hopeful because Nintendo definitely has more plans in store for the crossbow-wielding character.
With all the positive feedback that Linkle has been getting for Nintendo, it comes as quite a surprise that they did not consider programming her in "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U. But iDigitalTimes reports that even if they wanted to, "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U is already too far into production to make any changes at this point, especially since the game has taken years to develop.
But even without the new fan-favorite character in the game, "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U could still prove to be the best in its series. With HD graphics and an abundance of quests, how could it not?
Despite all the hype, though, there are still a few things that fans will be expecting in the new "Zelda" game.
One of the more common concerns has to do with the characters in the game. There are those that are reportedly deemed "annoying" and these characters surely won't be missed. Movie Pilot also points out that a primary villain will help smooth the story along and make it clear that the hero has a main goal, instead of peppering villains everywhere.
Other concerns have to do with how a player upgrades to better weapons and how the game's map isn't detailed enough.
"The Legend of Zelda" Wii U is scheduled for a 2016 release.
