When "The Blacklist" season 3 returns after its hiatus, episode 17 will see Red (James Spader) do everything in his power to stop Liz (Megan Boone) from marrying Tom (Ryan Eggold).
Titled "Mr. Solomon," the episode appears to go smoothly with Liz putting on her makeup and getting ready for the wedding while other scenes in the promo trailer show Tom already waiting at the altar. The promo trailer hints that things will be going nice and easy until Red arrives to persuade Liz into halting the procession and reversing her decision.
Red immediately begins telling Liz that she shouldn't push through with the wedding, stating that Tom isn't who she thinks he is. Red continues to state that Tom is a criminal yet Liz refutes by stating that this has changed. Red continues to state that men like Tom can never change.
As stated in a report from Ecumenical News, Liz's decision to marry Tom came from her hopes of forming a family for her child, quickly after learning she was pregnant, and as a means to spite Red after discovering he lied to her regarding her mother, the Russian agent Katarina Rostova.
Scenes quickly jump out of the church to reveal Red being accompanied by a group of armed men, one of whom hands him a shotgun. The words "'Till death do they part" are then heard, indicating that Red will indeed end up using brute force and violence to prevent the wedding from happening.
Fans speculate that this episode may see Red killing Tom or even the death of Liz if things do not go as well as Red plans. Red has always been shown to prioritize Liz over anyone else but it is possible his own actions to protect her will lead to her death or serious injuries.
"The Blacklist" season 3 episode 17 will air this April 7.
