'The Bachelorette' season 12 news: Caila Quinn to lead the show?

Caila Quinn, who was one of the remaining contestants of "The Bachelor" season 20, is now being reported as the new lead for "The Bachelorette" season 12. According to a report from US Magazine, the reality TV star has been spotted filming her intro package for "The Bachelorette" in her hometown of Hudson, Ohio.

ABC has not yet confirmed nor denied the rumor, and according to Yibada, the network will make the announcement very soon. The report states that the casting news will be announced during the finale for "The Bachelor" season 20 as a means of segueing into the next show.

Quinn, 24, lost in her bid to receive the final rose from "The Bachelor" season 20 lead, Ben Higgins, landing as the season's second runner-up. She is notable for being the first contestant he went on a one-on-one date with and she confessed her love to him during their date in a fantasy suite in Jamaica, only for him to send her home afterwards.

With her now possibly taking on the lead for "The Bachelorette," Quinn will be able to get a second chance of finding love as she is now the one who will be courted by a bevy of contestants until she finally picks the one she is the most romantically attracted to.

Quinn works as a freelance model and software sales representative. She is half-Filipino with Irish-German-Swiss descent and is a native to Ohio. Quinn is a self-confessed fan of shows like "Game of Thrones" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

Casting Quinn will also fall in line with a previous statement made by the show's creator, Mike Fleiss. "We're gonna do everything possible to pick the right person and add a little diversity to our cast," he told US Magazine. "That's the goal. We're making a concentrated effort to make that happen."

"The Bachelorette" season 12 is currently entering production and no official premiere date has yet been announced.
