Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton was placed on the 15-day disabled list last Thursday just seven games after his return following an MRI Wednesday which revealed a Grade 2 left hamstring strain.

The Rangers placed him on the list before their series closer against the Chicago White Sox.

Hamilton joined the Rangers from the Los Angeles Angels on April 27 and played 12 games in the minors before returning to the MLB.

Rangers manager Jeff Bannister felt bad about the situation but said they will utilize the lineup they used before Hamilton arrived to the club.

"I feel bad for Josh. We had a lineup before he got here. We'll continue to use that lineup," Bannister stated according to ESPN.

The 34-year-old was unable to play in two consecutive games due to tightness before having the MRI and was hitting .273 with two home runs and five RBIs, the Associated Press reported.

"It stinks. It's frustrating. You work your tail off to get here, the guys are doing well when I got here, you're able to have fun with them, it's frustrating," Hamilton said according to ESPN.

"There is nothing I can do except work hard to get better. I have had success before getting back early. Hopefully I can do the same," he added.

Hamilton also blamed himself because he did not do his routine of wrapping his leg when he suffered the injury in a 4-3 series closer win against the Boston Red Sox.

"I kept wrapping it every day in [Double-A] Frisco and [Triple-A] Round Rock. On Sunday, I didn't wrap it," Hamilton said according to ESPN.

"I promise you, I thought, 'You need to wrap it.' 'No, I'll be all right.' I hit the ball, and as I rounded first, I felt it grab. I took four more steps and felt it grab again," he added.
