Long after E3 2016 came to an end, the news regarding the appearances of most games at the Expo seems to have died down. But the hype surrounding Tekken 7 only grows stronger.

A limited arcade edition of Tekken 7, which is the ninth chapter in the Tekken series, was released in Japan last February. This was followed by another partial release in Japan, in March 2015. Subsequently, this July, fans of the Tekken series in Japan got luckier when Bandai Namco Entertainment released an improved arcade edition of the game titled Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.

The recently released updated version is complete with costumes, accessories, and brand new stages of one-on-one combats. PlayStation LifeStyle records that a Tekken 7 adaptation for Xbox One, PS4, and PCs is slated for release in early 2017. The Japanese variant of the game features swimsuit costumes for the characters in the game. However, social justice warriors in the US have interfered with the inclusion of the swimsuit versions in the US release.

Director and producer of the Tekken series, Katsuhiro Harada, responded in the affirmative to a tweet that posed the question, "Will Tekken 7: FR run at 1080p/60fps on the PlayStation?"

Whether the Xbox One and the PC versions will possess these specs remains unconfirmed. As far as the resolution and frame rate for the past versions of most games go, the Xbox One editions normally compromise on one in favor of the other.

When Tekken 7 was presented at E3 this year, 29 characters were featured. Katsuhiro Harada went on to confirm in an interview with GameSpot that the list of characters displayed at the convention was not the complete one.

Fans will have to wait to see if any new characters would be added, or if any of the old ones would return in the upcoming version.
