"Supernatural" season 11 will see the Winchester brothers more united as they take down their newest adversary. One of the baddies the hunters will have to deal with is a gal from outer space as already revealed in the past weeks, and she will be played by "The Mentalist" alum Emily Swallow.
According to TV Line, the actress was tapped to play the recurring role of Amara. Described as both "seductive and sinister," this new baddie won't be easy to defeat, thanks to her shrewd nature and her ominous connection to the Darkness.
It remains to be seen when Swallow will enter "Supernatural" season 11 or how she is linked to the new threat Sam and Dean will be facing, but it looks like her arrival will shake up the hunters' world. As previously reported, Amara destroys stuff when she doesn't like it. The "stuff" here is Earth itself.
In other news, Misha Collins gave hints about what the future holds for his character Castiel. In an interview with Buddy TV, the actor revealed that the angel is "not himself to say the least." He added that the Darkness will have an impact on him.
During the interview, it was revealed that Castiel will hang out more with Sam and Dean as if he will be taking a break from all the messes of the politics in heaven. In addition, his business with Metatron will isolate him from his fellow angels.
In "Supernatural" season 11, Sam and Dean will unite and this relationship will be stronger compared to how they were when Dean had the Mark of Cain and Sam did everything, including killing Death himself, to save his brother. This resilient bond will be their weapon against the Darkness.
"The nice thing about something as big as the Darkness is that it creates a really big ripple effect. And so you're going to see how it impacts both our guys and the world of hunting," executive producer Andrew Dabb told Hypable. "We're also going to see how it impacts Heaven and Hell and monsters and demons and witches and everything else. And everyone is going to come together."
"Supernatural" season 11 will premiere on Oct. 7.
