'Supernatural' season 11 spoilers: Jensen Ackles to direct one episode

Supernatural season 10 episode 19 CW

The production for "Supernatural" season 11 goes full throttle by the end of next week, with the team scouting the best locations to film the protagonists' next set of adventures. The cult-favorite Winchester brothers are also ready to get back to more darkness-associated work.

For one, actor Jensen Ackles is ready to start shooting the new season of the long-running series on July 7. He is already back in town to film the next chapter in the series with co-star Jared Padalecki, who was previously rumored to leave the show.

The third episode of the new season will be directed by Ackles. According to TV Line, The episode in question titled "The Bad Seed" sets the stage for the coming of a femme fatale named Amara, who arrives on Earth with an acid tongue and a seductive beauty.

The new character, who is described as an extraterrestrial in her 20s, will hang about the whole season. TV Line suggests that Amara was unleashed when Dean let the Darkness loose from the Mark of Cain. It remains to be seen who will be portraying the character.

Meanwhile, co-executive producer Jim Michaels, who was the one who revealed Ackles' directing stint in the series, is on the lookout for fitting venues that can hold some full-scale action. Michaels also shared a photo of actors Misha Collins and Timothy Hudson, which IB Times mentioned is likely from season 10.

More information will likely be served up during the cast and crew's conference at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con on July 11. The main cast members namely Ackles, Padalecki, Collins, and Mark Sheppard will be joined by co-showrunner Jeremy Carver to answer questions and reveal some spoilers during the convention.

"Supernatural" season 11 is slated to debut on Oct. 7.
