Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) will face a big responsibility in order to save the world in the first season finale of "Supergirl."

The season finale of "Supergirl" is right around the corner, and Kara's alter-ego Supergirl will be in a very compromising position. The official synopsis for the episode, titled "Better Angels," reads:

"Supergirl is forced to do battle with an unexpected foe and must risk everything -- including her life -- to prevent Non (Chris Vance) and Indigo (Laura Vandervoort) from destroying every person on the planet."

Toward the end of the penultimate episode, Kara and her sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) were on the verge of facing each other after Non managed to control her and the entire population of National City. Based on the synopsis, Kara's biggest fight to save the world yet could have her pitted against her own sister.

But could both the Danvers girls survive the upcoming events in the "Supergirl" finale? In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Greg Berlanti teased that someone could end up in a grave at the end of the season.

Pop culture fan and "The Flash" director Kevin Smith also dropped a major spoiler about the "Supergirl" finale on his podcast based on the details that he gathered from the production staff of the show.

"Something's happening that will affect Supergirl in such a great way that, you think it's like cute puppies and fu****g kittens now? You are going to cry when you see how beautiful this fu****g thing is," Smith said.

However, there is no information provided about whose life could possibly end in peril in the show's first season finale. But based on the trailer for the upcoming episode, Kara will do everything that she can in order to save the world, even if it means that her life will be in danger.

"Supergirl" season 1 finale airs on Monday, April 18, on CBS.
