
New backstory information about the slew of brand new characters to expect in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" has been uncovered, care of Making Star Wars.
Two more kinds of Stormtroopers have been revealed. The first one is the Scarif Stormtrooper, a specialist Stormtrooper tasked to patrol secret Imperial Military headquarters on Scarif, particularly the shorelines of the planet.
The next type of Stormtrooper to be introduced in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is the Hovertank Driver, a heavily armored combat driver in control of the Empire's repulsor vehicles.
The third character to be introduced in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is Moroff, a strapping mercenary of Gigoran descent who would help anyone with his weapons and strength, that is, if the price is right.
The last character and perhaps the most important one is Pao, a Drabata and a Rebel commander who happens to be a member of the Rogue One team led by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones).
He shouts "Sa'Kalla!" when he storms into the battlefield to fight the enemies. Other than that, there is no available information on what exactly he will do in the upcoming movie.
Pao, however, is expected to have a bigger role in the film than Moroff, who is expected to present an issue with the Rebels. The folks over at Making Star Wars also believes that he could be killed off immediately.
In other related news, Disney chief executive Bob Iger said that "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will not match "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in ticket sales.
"We never felt it would do the level that Force Awakens did," Iger said, adding that the spinoff is simply "an experiment of sorts." He, however, recognized that the hype is as big as that of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
Despite this, Disney has planned a third installment of the spinoffs set for release in 2020. It is unclear as to what it will be all about, but The Guardian suggests that it will follow Ben Solo's journey to the dark side.
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will be released on Dec. 16, 2017.
