Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will enter the last year of his rookie contract with the team and said he is ready to play for the 2015 season even if there is no new deal struck yet between him and the Seahawks.

"Ultimately, I believe it will work out, hope that it does. I just take one day at a time. It's a private matter. I don't really talk about that kind of stuff," Wilson said after the Seahawks' organized team activity Tuesday according to the Associated Press.

"I want to be here for a long time, but if that's the case I've just got to get ready to play," he added.

The focus of the NFL world shifted on Wilson who is yet to receive a new deal with Seattle as quarterbacks Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers) and Ryan Tannehill (Miami Dolphins) already signed new deals, the NFL reported.

But according to Wilson, he is involved with talks about his contract but wants to keep matters regarding the subject private, the Associate Press reported.

"I hope that it works, but like I said guys, I don't talk about it. It's just one of those things," the 26-year old said.

Wilson also explained, "So I'm sorry about that, but ultimately it's about coming out here and winning games and trying to be prepared for that, and that's all my focus really has been."

According to the Associated Press, Wilson also talked about his offseason moving forward from their Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots and the opportunity they have this year.

"I went down to San Diego, got away from everything, and just worked out every day pretty much. Had my personal trainer, had my mental coach down there, and we just got to work," he said.

"Whether you win the Super Bowl, don't win it, whatever, the belief is to continue to do everything you can to prepare as a team and an individual to make sure you can have a great opportunity and a great chance of getting there again," Wilson added.
