Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 release date, specs: will flagship tablet device make it this year?

The official release of Samsung's latest tablet device, the Galaxy Tab S3, is right around the corner, and while fans of this series are still wondering why the South Korean electronics and mobile device giant didn't officially launch it back in September, all that is history now and as long as the upcoming device makes it before the end of the year, then there's really no issue other than a slight delay of some sort.

According to GameNGuide, the fact that the device was earlier spotted at Zauba, an Indian import/export tracking website, is proof enough that the flagship tablet is indeed coming very soon. While the appearance doesn't really put that much weight into the possibility that the Galaxy Tab S3 will be released this month, it's quite easy to lean on that prospect considering that there only is barely a month left before the year's end. And yes, it makes a lot of difference if the device hits the stores before the holiday season since everyone's going to be shopping for gadgets.

Earlier reports noted that the first batch of Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 units was sent to India for testing and that there will be two offerings — an LTE version and a Wi-Fi only variant. With Samsung's Exynos 8890 chip doing great in the Samsung Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone, it is safe to bet that this upcoming tablet with be powered by it as well. However, one cannot count out the possibility that Samsung will instead go for the equally capable and proven Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Anyway, either of those two chips should be good enough to power and run the Galaxy Tab S3.

Should there be no release happening this year, the nearest possibility of a launch will be in the first months of next year, especially since Samsung is slated to make major announcements during next year's biggest electronics and gadgets events, including the Mobile World Congress and the Consumer Electronics Show.
