The Galaxy S7 will be the first all-metal handset from Samsung, according to a new report. A publication from South Korea is claiming that the flagship will be fully clad with magnesium alloy to make it look classier and make it feel lighter.

The tech firm has allegedly enlisted the same supply chain that provided them the aluminum metal unibody used on the Galaxy S6 to manufacture for them magnesium alloy cases. It appears that the Galaxy maker especially requested that these cases should still feel like aluminum on the surface.

Magnesium alloy should allow the Samsung Galaxy S7 to look good and sleek while enjoying a tougher, more resilient and a lightweight build. The material will also make the flagship a complete departure from its predecessor, which Samsung used to introduce glass-metal builds in its high-end lineup.

It is also being reported that Samsung will debut in the Galaxy S7 its (rumored) very own screen protection called Turtle Glass. Apparently, the company has patented a glass cover going by that name, which it will reportedly employ in place of the Corning Gorilla Glass material it used in its previous offerings.

In earlier leaks, the rumored successor of the Galaxy S6 was spotted with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Users will remember that Samsung shied away from using the 810 processor on its current flagships because of alleged issues with overheating.

And if the company still worried that such issue will emerge, the magnesium alloy should help disperse the heat. This could also be one of the reasons that magnesium alloy will be the company's choice material for the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Other rumored specs on the handset include a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a 4 GB RAM and a 64 GB in-built storage space. It is expected to sport a 16 MP rear-facing camera as well as a 5 MP front-facing shooter. The device will allegedly be released in the first half of 2016.
