Samsung Galaxy Note 6 specs: New device said to feature whopping 6 GB of RAM

Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the predecessor of Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Samsung

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was a big step up from its predecessors, but according to a report from GSM Arena,  the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 will be an even bigger upgrade as it will be one of the very first smartphone devices to feature 6 GB of RAM, essentially making it as fast as most modern laptops and desktop computers.

The report points out that this isn't just based on speculation as Samsung has been ordering the production of 6GB RAM chips since last year. It is also explained that several Chinese phones are already sporting these high-end RAM chips in some of their phone models, already proving that the technology is fit for commercial use.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 only runs on 4GB RAM, which is already an impressive feat. It is also more impressive with the fact that the Note 5 does not overheat as often as other smartphone devices with such high processing power tend to do.

Not only will the phone feature high RAM speed but it is also rumored to feature 64GB and 128GB internal storage options that can later be expanded with the use of micro SD cards. More importantly, it will also be running on either a Qualcomm Snapdragon processing chip or one from Exynos.

Other reported features include a bigger battery to keep the phone running despite using even more power than its predecessors and it is also said to include a 12MP rear camera built with Super OIS. No information regarding 3D photo capturing, 4K screen resolutions or other experimental features has been linked to the Galaxy Note 6.

In regards to the screen, Vine Report states that there have been talks of the device using Slim RGB AMOLED display technology but this was taken back. However, it is rumored that the screen will be bigger than that on previous Galaxy Note devices as it will be 5.8-inches instead of 5.7-inches.

No release date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 has yet been announced.
