Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) release date, specs rumors: upcoming device offered in four color variants

Industry-leading smartphone brand Samsung has a wide range of devices offered to different consumer groups, with the Galaxy S and Note series as the premium and flagship options. There also is a budget-friendly range called the Galaxy J series and a midrange set of devices named as the Galaxy A series. While a huge chunk of attention is afforded to the Galaxy S and Note series, there is somewhat of a rising trend within the company in introducing Galaxy A series phones with remarkable specs, some of which can even easily compete with the premium and flagship smartphones from other brands.

One of the most talked about upcoming devices in the midrange class is the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), which according to a recent revelation, will be offered in four different color variants. The news came from a leaker named Roland Quandt, who revealed via Twitter that the new version of the Galaxy A5 will have black, blue, gold, and pink color options. However, it has to be noted that this information remains unconfirmed as of this posting.

Whether or not the rumor is true, Samsung is stepping up its bid to redemption following the bad year caused by the damage of its Galaxy Note 7 phablet. In order to win back the hearts of consumers, it needs to come up with better offerings, not just in its high-end range of smartphones, but also in lower ranges such as the Galaxy A and J series.

Per Phone Arena, the updated version of the Galaxy A5 will be powered by the company's own Exynos 7880 processor, which in turn will partner with 3 GB of random access memory (RAM) and 32 GB of internal storage, although an expandable slot is always made available for those who can't adjust to using cloud storage for photos and other multimedia files.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) is expected to be released early next year.
