Rory Feek to write book about late wife Joey; says she wants him to continue telling their story through movies too

Rory and Joey Feek celebrate Valentine's Day Joey Feek/This Life I Live Blog

The enduring love of Rory and country singer Joey Feek will continue even after Joey's death as Rory has revealed plans to write a book about his late wife and her journey.

In an interview with People, the widower revealed one of his wife's wishes before she passed away was for him to write a book to inspire other people with their great story.

"And she's also encouraged me to write a book. Joey and I have both experienced the power of living, and telling a great story, so I hope to be able to continue writing and being part of a great story," he said.

Throughout Joey's illness, Rory maintained a blog This Life I Live documenting  the family's journey and struggle to remain strong in the face of her terminal cancer.

Joey passed away last week at the age of 40 with her husband and children by her side after a long battle with the illness.

In his most recent entry, Rory shared his wife's final moments in which one of her greatest dreams was fulfilled. She got to watch a short video that her idol Dolly Parton made for her.

"Joey's family, Russdriver and I gathered around Joey's bedside to watch the movie "Hope Floats" (one of the few movies Joey knew and loved) with her. But instead of pushing play on the DVD, I pushed play on the video I had received... and we all watched Joey watch. It was the most beautiful moment I have ever been part of...," he shared.

Rory also shared that his late wife also encouraged him to continue to tell their story through film, which he has already started doing.

"She talked to me about how she wants me to continue to tell our story, and other stories. This past spring I co-wrote and directed my first film, and she wants me to go on and continue writing and making more movies," he said.
