'Revenge' ABC TV show to have spin-off? Is Nolan Ross returning?

Is Nolan Ross coming back on TV? ABC

Emily Thorne's quest for vengeance may be officially over, but it does not mean that everyone in the Hamptons has found their happy ending when "Revenge" aired its series finale back in May.

"Revenge" fans have been hoping to see Emily's (Emily VanCamp) friend Nolan Ross (Gabriel Mann) back on TV. The series ended with another person asking for his help, after his job in assisting Emily in seeking revenge against the people who ruined her family's reputation was done. Some media outlets also think that the character's fate will be perfect to be included in "Kingsmaker," the new project of series producer Sallie Patrick.

The planned drama pilot for "Kingsmaker" stars Gus Halper, who portrays the lead character named Eli who tries to investigate his sister's sudden death during her freshman year at an elite Ivy League university. To push through with the investigation, he adopts a new identity to get into the core of the long-established institution.

Other cast members of the show include "Heroes" star Adrian Pasdar, "Once Upon a Time" actress Kristin Bauer Van Straten, "The Vampire Diaries" star Michael Trevino, "The Blacklist Alcatraz" star Parminder Nagra, "The Borgias" star Colm Feore, Tracey Fairaway, Nick Eversman, and "How to Get Away With Murder" actress Megan West.

But the drama pilot failed to get picked up for the 2015-2016 season, crushing down all hopes that Nolan's story will continue.

However, the recent statement from ABC president Paul Lee during Tuesday's Television Critics Association summer press tour could make "Revenge" fans hold on to their hopes as he explained why "Kingmakers" failed to make it on TV.

"We didn't pick up the pilot [of 'The Kingmakers'], but 'Revenge' is a wonderful brand around the world it doesn't preclude us from doing it again," the ABC top exec said.

While there are no concrete details from the network about Nolan's return to TV, "Revenge" fans are undoubtedly still keeping their fingers crossed, hoping that it will eventually happen.
