'Pretty Little Liars' season 6 spoilers: Actress Sasha Pieterse sheds light on Charles' identity

The Liars are scared, tired, and dirty in the episode titled "Game on, Charles" in Pretty Little Liars Season 6. ABC Family

"Pretty Little Liars" season 6 is set to continue the liars' torment in a couple of days. Just before it starts, Sasha Pieterse, who plays Alison in the series, was able to serve up profuse details about the all-new season and just who Charles DiLaurentis is.

Talking to Zap2it, the actress revealed that her character has never heard of their alleged tormentor, let alone the reason he is causing so much agony to the liars. She raises the mystery behind Charles' possible connection to the DiLaurentis family and the mystery of not knowing about his existence.

"We've always known that Alison has a strange family, but now it just goes so much deeper and so much darker. It's really hard for her to trust anyone. She can't even trust her own family completely. I've actually really enjoyed watching that unravel and playing that out," the actress said.

"I can tell you that Charles is somehow related to the DiLaurentis family. He's this self-destructive, hypersensitive crazy genius that is haunting these girls and his ultimate dollhouse does include Alison," Pieterse told Pop Sugar.

Pieterse also revealed what Charles is like. Judging by her description, the guy has all the makings of someone who can easily toy with the liars, showing no signs of remorse. He is one as horrendous and sadistic as "A" because he is "A."

"Charles is obsessed with the girls and obsessed with everything that he has created in his mind. So, to have the real Alison is his obsession and his dream," she went on to say.

The actress also had something to say about Andrew, who many believe is Charles in disguise. "Pretty Little Liars" season 6 will delve into that but Pieterse did not say whether or not Andrew is "A" or if Charles and him are the same person. She said that the latter "definitely has something," which won't be something that fans think it is.

"He came out of nowhere. But at the same time, he was always there," she teased, adding that fans should be suspicious of him. "It's this weird dynamic, especially now between him and Aria and why he's doing what he's doing. So, I think the fans will enjoy the outcome of what happens to Andrew for sure."

"Pretty Little Liars" season 6, Pieterse says, is the "darkest season that we've encountered" because Charles came into play. The premiere episode titled "Game On, Charles," will air on June 2.
