'Pokémon Z' release date details expected before Christmas

Legendary Pokemon Zygarde, the rumored star of Pokemon Z Nintendo

While publisher Nintendo and creator The Pokémon Co. have not yet revealed concrete details about the next "Pokémon" installment, hardcore fans may not have that long to wait for confirmed information as rumors suggest that details will be coming before Christmas.

A report by Express UK mentioned that Japanese magazine CoroCoro teases new details about the upcoming "Pokémon Z" title in its December issue. On this month's pages, Pokémon fans were treated to a surprise, an appearance of a blue-gemmed Zygarde Core, along with hints at December teasers.

Although the information itself is not specifically stated, CoroCoro is known to provide hints and tips about "Pokémon"-related updates, so fans are expecting that CoroCoro will have something about either "Pokémon Z" or "Pokémon GO," and might even come up with details on both titles. The industry follower pegs a December 15 release date for the monthly magazine's December issue.

While there are no details yet on the release date, the game's continuing saga has already been guessed on and predicted online. According to rumors, there will be at least five Legendary Pokémon that will make their appearance in the game, with the central one, Zygarde, obtainable through its many forms. Zygarde will reportedly by joined by other Legendary Pokémon, chief among them Xerneas and Yveltal from the previous "X" and "Y" titles.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the other game title, "Pokémon GO," will be released in the early months next year. The title itself is a new take on the genre, and fans will apparently look forward to the game as well as the accompanying Pokémon GO Plus wearable. Powered by augmented reality gameplay, "Pokémon GO" will have players act as trainers themselves, discovering Pokémon in real-world locations.
