'One Piece: Burning Blood' release dates revealed for PS Vita, PS4, and Xbox One

One Piece: Burning Blood Bandai Namco

Bandai Namco has now officially announced the release dates for "One Piece: Burning Blood." According to a report from Gematsu, the game will launch for the PS Vita, PS4, and Xbox One on May 31 in North America. A PC port is also set to follow but this will release sometime in June.

Japan will, understandably, get the game first as it releases there on April 21 but only for the PS Vita and PS4. Europe will get their hands on the game as it releases for the PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One and PC simultaneously on June 3. It is likely that the North American PC release will be relatively close to the European launch.

Pre-ordering the fighting game based on one of the longest-running manga and anime series will grant players access to a few special characters such as "Fourth Gear Luffy," Kung Fu Luffy," and "Aero Luffy." Also announced is the story mode title "Paramount War," which focuses on the Marineford Arc in the manga and anime series.

Along with the announcement of the game's release date come new photos and a new trailer, titled "Matchless Beauties," which introduces four female additions to the game's roster. These new characters include Nami, Boa Hancock, Nico Robin and Perona. The trailer showcases a little bit of their fighting styles and special moves.

One of the main highlights of the photos is that it also features a look at main character Luffy before the series' two-year time jump. Edward "Whitebeard" Newgate, Jinbe, Marco and Jozu are also showcased in some of the photos from Bandai Namco.

"One Piece: Burning Blood" is not a direct sequel to "One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3" or other fighting games in the "One Piece" video game lineup. It will be the very first "One Piece" video game to see a release on the Xbox One.
