Nexus 5 2015 rumors: Specs of two variants leaked

The first version of Nexus 5 from LG Electronics Google website

It has long been rumored that Google will release two versions of the Nexus 5 2015 and if it does, this will be the first time the software giant will unveil two handsets in one year. A new report from GizmoChina solidifies that by revealing the alleged specs sheets of the forthcoming Nexus duo.

The first Nexus 5 2015 is reportedly being made by LG. This device, according to the publication, will come with a 5.2-inch Full HD P-OLED display. It is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor under the hood with 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64 GB of storage.

This new Nexus 5 is also rumored to boast a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter with an IMX278 sensor and optical image stabilization as well as laser autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. It will be complemented with a 4-megapixel camera on the front.

Tech Times adds that the device will be clad in aluminum but its rear casing will be plastic. It should also come with a fingerprint scanner, a USB Type-C reversible connector as well as dual speakers. It will also have Quick Charging technology. The pricing is said to be from $300 to $400.

The second Nexus 5 2015 variant is said to be coming from Huawei. GizmoChina did not say much about the specs of this model but it did claim that the Huawei Nexus will have a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED screen, a 21-megapixel IMX230 sensor camera and wireless charging.

All these powerful-sounding features will reportedly be enclosed in a metal unibody. More to the aesthetics of the smartphone, Nowhereelse.fr shared a video that allegedly shows the Nexus 5 2015 from the China-based tech firm. It notably resembles Huawei's Ascend Mate 7 with features such as a fingerprint scanner and a camera with familiar Nexus 5 design language on the back.

These two Nexus 5 2015 models are expected to be unveiled as the first Android M-laden smartphones in October or November.
