Christian rock band Newsboys are using their 18th studio album to promote God's message to love one another and stop the hate amid racial tensions across the US.

The album, aptly titled "Love Riot" reflects the desire of band members Duncan Phillips, Jody Davis, Jeff Frankenstein and Michael Tait to get the faithful to support the message of love between different races.

"I think we've seen enough rioting over hate, about hate or because of hate. As a band, I think we're over it. I know we've had some race riots.. Black Lives matter, which they do. But then if I look at my Bible, every life matters," Newsboys drummer Duncan Phillips said in an interview with The Christian Post.

"It's the ultimate love that our creator, our maker, our savior came down from the right hand of the Father out of love. Truly out of love, for no other reason and made that bridge between us and our father God," he added.

The band members said that their message of worshipping God and loving one another is not a new thing but they want to take the message to an even higher level with their evolved sound. With darkness prevalent in today's culture, they said its high time to have a love riot.

They enlisted Mark Needham, who also produced the albums of Imagine Dragons and The Killers, and completed their album in Los Angeles, California, instead of their base in Nashville.

"I think what we did by working with (Needham), he ended up pulling something out of the band that we wouldn't have gotten if we were in Nashville. So I'm very very proud of the record. If you like our 'Restart' record, you'll love this one. It's better songs, better performances and also better production," Phillips added.
