Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo will bid his last goodbye in the season finale of "NCIS" season 13. But how will the series send off the fan-favorite character?

In an interview for TV Insider, actor Michael Weatherly admitted that he felt emotional when he shot the final scenes of his character.

"It's an epic time for me," Weatherly confessed.

The actor shared that the scene where Tony and Pauley Perrette's character, Abby Sciuto, said their final goodbyes in the elevator was "very beautiful," and all his scenes with Mark Harmon's character Gibbs were "also very satisfying."

However, Perrette admitted that she had a hard time doing her scenes with Weatherly for the season 13 finale.

"I told the guys on the crew that the only acting I was really doing were the parts when I wasn't crying. The rest is totally real," the actress said.

But fans are already eager to know how DiNozzo will depart from the show. Some were speculating that the special agent will be killed, while others believe that he will go out of the country to be reunited with Ziva (Cote de Pablo) in Israel.

Showrunner Gary Glasberg teased the scenario for the season 13 finale on Fox News.

"I will say to you to expect Tony to be around for the whole final episode and enjoy the roller coaster ride that comes with it," the showrunner said.

However, he did not dismiss the idea that Ziva has something to do with DiNozzo's departure.

"Ziva is a huge part of who Tony is," Glasberg explained. "There's no denying that. As we look back at 13 seasons of television, is there an element that involves Ziva? Absolutely. She's a huge part of who he is moving forward."

The official synopsis for the season 13 finale, airing on May 17, reads:

"NCIS, FBI and MI6 continue an international manhunt for an escaped British spy who is targeting current and former agents."
