'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 spoilers: Kensi to come round but with paralysis?

Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) in "NCIS: LA" CBS

As Kensi (Daniela Ruah) was revealed to be the team member whose life will be endangered in the premiere of "NCIS Los Angeles" eighth season, Granger (Miguel Ferrer) calls Nell (Renee Felice Smith) to help the team resolve the case.

Nell was in great form as she returned with a vengeance to take down two suspects in the second episode of the season, but Kensi still remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after the fateful helicopter crash, reported Christian Times.

Rumors that Kensi and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) will move forward in their relationship proved true as Deeks proposed to Kensi while she was still unconscious. The unconventional proposal would have to wait for an answer when Kensi finally wakes up.

There was great hope of a positive outcome despite the grim events in the last two episodes after Kensi's finger twitched as Deeks slipped the ring on.

However, a report by the Parent Herald hints that this is not a sure sign that Kensi is already home free as the twitch could only be attributed to a muscle spasm. Besides, at the end of the episode, there still has not been any brain activity detected. There are also rumors that Kensi will be faced with a challenging recovery as there is also the possibility of the left half of her body being paralyzed.

Still, fans are clinging to hope for a happy resolution after the NCIS team teased prior to the beginning of the season that Deeks and Kensi may even welcome a baby this season to incorporate Ruah's real life pregnancy into the story.

Meanwhile, following the explosive back to back episodes to open the season, fans would have to wait for another two weeks before the next episode airs.

The next episode — entitled "Black Market" — will air on Sunday, Oct. 16.
