Special Agents G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) will finally head to Russia in an "unsanctioned mission" in the next episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7.
In the second installment of the special two-part "Matryoshka" episode, the NCIS agents will resume their mission with the help of Anastasia "Anna" Kolcheck (Bar Paly) to break her father Arkady (Vyto Ruginis) and a CIA agent named Randall Sharov (Salvator Xuereb) out of a Russian prison.
The previous episode showed that Callen and Hanna had to go undercover with Anna so they could infiltrate a gala where they could get access to the information regarding the former KGB officer using the computer of the Russian Consul General.
Their plan worked, and Callen and Hanna with Anna were now on their way to Russia to finish what they were supposed to do. But as per Hetty's (Linda Hunt) orders, the NCIS agents should cut their ties from Anna or Arkady if their mission to rescue Sharov gets compromised.
However, Callen is also revealed to have a personal connection to this mission since it will shed some light on his past. While Hanna appears to be skeptical about this particular mission, he understands why his partner is deeply invested in it since he knows that Arkady is the only person who can provide the information regarding Callen's father and his past.
According to the official synopsis for the episode, "While they're in Russia, Callen, Sam and Anna craft a plan to break Anna's father and his CIA agent companion out of prison. Also, Special Agent G. Callen finally learns what the 'G' in his name stands for, and in Los Angeles, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) take Eric (Barrett Foa) into the field on an assignment."
"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 episode 16 will air on on Feb. 22, on CBS.
