It was believed that Lenovo-Motorola has discontinued its Moto X line with the announcement of the Moto Z. However, a recent GFXBench result of a phone believed to be the Moto X 2016 surfaced, showing a Snapdragon 820 and a dual-lens camera system.

The listing also shows the Qualcomm chip with an Adreno 530 GPU is paired with 4GB of RAM. It will also come with 32GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card, and pre-loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. It will be with a 5.5-inch screen configuration, capable of delivering 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

Interestingly, the result page also showcases a dual-camera at the back with 20 and 12 MP camera sensors capable of recording 4K videos. The front camera is pegged at 5 MP, capable of recording 2502 x 1944 resolution videos. Features for the main camera includes autofocus, face detection, built-in LED flash and touch focus.

Moreover, Morning News USA reported that B&H Photo Video, an online retail store, started offering a discounted Moto X Pure Edition, for US$399.99. Its regular price is US$449.99, so it is a clear US$50 savings. But that is not all. Eligible buyers will also get a Moto 360 Sport smartwatch, in white or orange, at no extra cost. So it is another US$200 savings, the price of the wearable.

Now fans are taking this offer as a hint that a new model will soon arrive and the tech giant wants to dispose of its stocks of the old model faster.

The Moto X Pure Edition comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display, a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 SoC chip, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. It also comes with a 21MP main camera and a 5MP camera on the front. Aside from great specifications, it is also equipped with front-facing loud speakers and pre-loaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The Moto X 2016 is expected to arrive within the next few months, but Lenovo or Motorola has announced no official news about the existence of the phone.
