The Cage family is bound to stick together in the much-awaited "Mortal Kombat X." The newest character to grace the blood-spattered battleground is Sonya Blade, mom to participant Cassie Cage. The news comes after it was confirmed that her ex-husband Johnny Cage would be participating in the upcoming fighting game as well.

The tough-as-nails lieutenant was reintroduced via a Cage family-centric trailer that shows the fighting style of each as well as quarrels here and there. The trailer also shows Johnny's fatality, which words would not be able to properly describe.

Tech Times notes that Sonya looks strikingly different from her versions in previous iterations of the legendary video game. Conversely, the site says that Johnny Blade has undergone not much change from "Mortal Kombat 9." Nevertheless, it is good to see the iconic characters exchange more brutal and horrific blows in the newest installment of the celebrated series.

The trailer also drops some clues on who the remaining playable combatants might be. In the first seconds of the footage, a carving of the vicious, unforgiving mutant Baraka is seen standing in between Sonya's and Johnny's as the video pans out.

Kenshi also appears in the footage as he stands, yet again, in the middle of Sonya and Johnny as they the former couple argue on "babysitting." The blind swordsman is one of the classic fighters fans would like to see in the game. In fact, he is rumored to join the pack soon.

Sonya and Johnny are also seen fighting the rancorous fallen Elder God Shinnok in the video. If he is to show up in "Mortal Kombat X," the ruthless and possibly the most sinister being in the whole the "Mortal Kombat" universe will shake things up for sure.

Lastly and possibly the most wished-for combatant might just make it to "Mortal Kombat X." In the footage, Jax is seen fighting Johnny in what looks like a gameplay shot. He is almost sure to join the roster and it looks like the cybernetically-enhanced soldier is made more implacable than ever.

"Mortal Kombat X" is coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC on April 14. PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will get it this summer.
