The still-unannounced Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is one of the highly anticipated devices that could possibly arrive by September or October next year. Now, it is also rumored to have two display variants when it is released.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is predicted to be released in two models with different display configurations. One will be offered in 2K resolution while another one will have a 4K display screen, which may also arrive either with an NVIDIA or with AMD GPU. This new generation of GPUs will be responsible for driving the resolution to up to 3840 x 2560 pixels.

Previously, it was reported that the rumored tablet is waiting for the Kaby Lake processor, the seventh-generation chip from Intel, as well as the Redstone 2 version of Windows 10. These are the rumored reasons why the company will not be releasing the device this year.

Concerning the technical specification, it was also rumored before that it may arrive with at least 16GB of RAM, USB 3.1 Type-C port and Thunderbolt 3 ports. Other components that may also receive upgrades include the camera (16MP rear and 8MP front with better quality,), faster Wi-Fi (with MU-MIMO support) and Bluetooth connections and a longer-lasting battery life.

PC Advisor mentioned that the Surface Pen could possibly be upgraded as well. Instead of using an AAAA alkaline battery, it will now come with a built-in rechargeable one.

Pricing is expected to be around US$999 for its lowest model.

Meanwhile, The Country Caller stated that eBay is selling Microsoft-certified refurbished Surface Pro 4 hybrid tablets at discounted prices. A 128GB variant is available for US$649.50, a considerable price cut even for a refurbished unit. A brand-new one has a price of US$899. It is now speculated that Microsoft wants to discard its previous model fast. Many also see this move as a possible hint that a new model will soon arrive.
