'Microsoft Surface Pro 4' release date, specs: Laplet hybrid coming in two variants this July?

Now that Microsoft has announced the existence of a budget-friendly version of its flagship Surface Pro device called Surface 3 Tablet, it seems to be the perfect time for the Redmond-based giant to work on the next-generation laptop-tablet hybrid, the always-rumored Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

According to persistent reports, the two-in-one machine will be ready to dazzle in July this year. While this remains uncorroborated, media outlets are already looking at the still-unconfirmed Surface Pro 4 to give Apple's new MacBook and iPad Pro a run for their money.

There is also word that the device will come in two different sizes although the alleged 12-inch and 14-inch variants will bear the same 2K display. The latter will be the high-grade hybrid with powerful Intel i5 and i7 as processors and up to 1TB of storage.

The 12-inch flavor is said to draw its power from a Broadwell processor that will promise outstanding performance despite its size. This is a rather big change as the Surface Pro 3 had Haswell units. This processor choice will get rid of the need for a fan under the device's hood.

On the other hand, the similarity that will unite the two laplets (laptop and tablet) is their use of stylus and matching keyboards. More than that, it will be how things and apps will run on the devices.

When it comes to the operating system, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 should be one of the software giant's offerings to run Windows 10. The operating system is Microsoft's attempt to connect various devices by having them run this unified software.

Should the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 really come out in July as expected, the price range will not be far from $1,200. The priciest of which should be about $2,000. For now, marvel on the new crossover wonder that is Surface 3 Tablet.
