'Mass Effect: Andromeda' news: Game now playable

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is slated to be released late next year. BioWare

A Twitter post by Lead Producer Cameron Lee states that the game "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is now playable, and has even further claimed that the game developer has already played the first hour of the shooter game.

"Just finished playing the first hour of Mass Effect: Andromeda... #DevPerk" the tweet by Lee read.

Reports are stating that the new installment of the "Mass Effect" franchise will be launched sometime in the fourth quarter of this year. The upcoming game was announced back in June 15, 2015 during the Electronic Arts press conference at E3, and will be the fourth "Mass Effect" title by game developer BioWare.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" will be the first multiplayer version in the franchise. Though a few fans are worried, producer Gamble has promised that there is nothing to be worried about as he will be keeping a close eye on the development of this title.

"We're playing around with a bunch of different physics for the Mako. The thing that we have to do is make sure it's as responsive as possible. We've learned a thing or two over the years." Gamble said to The Escapist. "In terms of customization, it's been something that we've been looking at for sure, because we feel as though if you're going to be spending a lot of time in vehicles in places, they should reflect you as a player."

And based on Lee's tweet, it looks like the team is getting close to completion by having a running and playable version of the game on hand.

"Mass Effect" is a science-fiction role playing game developed for the Xbox, Playstation and Microsoft Windows-run PCs. The game play for the PC version has received a score of 89 percent based on 45 critic reviews on Metacritic.

"Mass Effect" is expected to come in just in time for the holiday season of 2016.
